January ’08 Mothership Meeting -1/16/08 January 10, 2008

January’s main (“Mothership”) meeting will be Wednesday, January 16, 7pm at the Panera Bread eatery in the Framingham Mall, 400 Cochituate Road (Route 30), Framingham. For reference, there is also a Target in this mall. This is the same location scheduled for last November’s meetup. Hopefully, with the holiday season over, the location will work better this time around.

May Meeting – May 8 May 8, 2007

David McMillin (a podsafe artist) will be kicking off a new tour in Boston
that night. We thought it would be cool to have a bunch of podcasters show up
and show support. Plus it’s a fun downtown location.

Please note that there is an $8 cover charge. However, if you are there by 7pm, please identify yourself as a New England Podcaster to Chris Penn when he arrives, as some special arrangements are being made.

Very important – it uses LAME 3.91 which is badly out of date. You can, through a very elaborate procedure, upgrade the built-in version
of LAME to 3.97, which is what I use. For the same quality, same bitrate, LAME has reduced my show’s file sizes by a third.

BUNKER HILL COMMUNITY COLLEGE: PodCamp Boston will be held at Bunker Hill Community College . We have access to a few large areas to assemble, with sessions being held in smaller classroom areas. It’s local enough to everything that you can ride a train, take a bus, get a cab. It’s VERY accessible to folks either coming from far away or locally. There’s parking, as well.

August 9th Meeting August 4, 2006

We had our monthly meeting of New England Podcasting at John Harvards Brewhouse in Framingham on Wednesday August 9th at 7 PM.

Clinton, John Wall, Christopher S. Penn, Wicked Good Podcasters Steve and Maureen, and more joined us for a really fun time.

This month the Boston Media Makers joined us to say goodbye to Andy Carvin who is leaving Boston…

Lots of interesting things were talked about, half of which I don’t know about since we had two tables. But we did mingle. Oh yes we all mingled…

Chris Brogan pretty much recited the contents of his recent blog posts to us. Ha ha. Just kidding…
